Incorporates the DVCAM format offering superior video and audio quality for broadcast and professional use. Also capable of recording and playing the consumer DV format (SP mode only), allowing a maximum of 270 minutes of recording time (DVCAM format: maximum 184 minutes). (NOTE: Recording in the DV format does not ensure frame accurate video and/or audio insertion.)

The DSBK-1501 option board provides the DSR-1500 with SDI and SDTI (QSDI) digital video and AES/EBU digital audio interfaces.

DVCAM and DV Format Playback
The DVCAM digital recording format for video professional is an extension of the consumer DV format.

Analog Inputs and Outputs
The DSR-80 provides a full complement of analog I/O for video and audio, which offers compatibility with conventional analog equipment, such as Betacam SP, Hi-8, and S-VHS for a smooth and gradual transition to digital systems.

SDTI (QSDI) I/O connectors
The DSR-80 is equipped with a QSDI interface which handles compressed video, as well as sub code data and digital audio signals of the DVCAM recording format.

Serial Digital Interface (SDI I/O)
The SDI (Serial Digital Interface) which conforms to the SMPTE 259M broadcast standard, is supported by the optional DSBK-120 SDI I/O Board for simple connection with SDI equipped devices such as Digital BETACAM VTRs.
